Miercurea Ciuc: mesmerizing city, mineral waters and sources.

In Romania, this wondeful place which is teeming from green belt area can be found in Transylvania.

It’s located in Szeklerland cultural region, in the middle part of the Ciuc Basin in Romania.

Miercurea Ciuc’s reputation, among other things, is its annual Pentecost farewell celebration, hockey team and its beer which is liked worldwide and can be found in the Csíksomlyó area.

In the city there are nine water sources.

The town has three mineral water beaches, the szeredai, the ice rink quarter and the baths of zsögödi.

What is worth to see?

Do not travel from Miercurea Ciuc without seeing Miko Castle, the Saint Cross Church, the Greek Catholic Church, the City Hall the former County Hall, the justice palace, the General Court Building and the Greek Eastern Church.

What to taste for sure?

Nowhere in the World the Tarragon soup (potato) has been cooked like in Miercurea Ciuc. Among the main courses the hominy, which is made from corn grist, is a speciality. Of course, beer production has a major role here too.
